I dusted off the Holga in November 2010 and went down to Hyde Park on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Top beer weather.

Extortion.
I was digging through some old photos on my hard drive and came across a few from the Extortion 'Loose Screws' launch at the Civic last year. Here's one of them.

Beaufort St Festival.
Wow. I've really become lazy updating this thing. Here are some photos that were part of the Beaufort St Festival 60-Minute Snapshot exhibition, curated by the super-duper onetrickpony. I ended up winning a prize for photos that best represented the spirit of the festival - or something to that effect - and scored some free framing. Lucky, 'cos I got this thing I need hung on my wall.

Oh. Hey man.
Whoops. It's been a while since I uploaded anything. Whatevs, bro. But hey, here's what's been happening. Lomovember came and went, and I had a few shots up on the wall (for instance, the one below). Heck, one of them even won me a prize - a Lomo fisheye camera. Rad.
I was also asked to take some photos for the Beaufort St Festival a few weekends back. I'm getting these printed today, fingers crossed they don't look like turdburgers.

New Zealand.
I was in New Zealand for work a couple of weeks ago, and on our day off, we thought we'd go for a drive through the countryside. Our mission was simple: find the most epic landscapes we possibly could. So we crammed into the crappiest little piece of shit hire vehicle Europcar could give us, and away we went, off to find the most menacing mountains New Zealand has to offer.
Six (or was that seven?) hours later, we stumbled across a humble little abode, surrounded by two volcanoes. Oh, and apparently, where the 'End of the World' battle in Lord of the Rings was filmed. Nice.

Oriental Foods.
Taken a while back on Beaufort Street. This store is long gone, now it's full of wallpaper. The type of wallpaper that I assume hip money-making Mount Lawley people would buy.

Mundaring Weirdo.
This was from a while back when my old pal Owenmaster and I went on a treck to Mundaring Weir. Now I have a car, maybe I can repay the favour.

Hollywood Center Motel.
It's been way too hot these last few days. Too hot do anything. Fucking summer. In other bad news, the photo lab down the road from me on Beaufort St just closed down. They were super nice and their Fuji scanner was rad, so I'm going to have to find somewhere else to scan my 35mm. Somewhere that's not Fitzgerald's. (That's another story for another time.) Anyhoo, this was taken on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Santa Monica.
Hey! Lomovember was a bunch of fun, and the shot from my last post (the one of the birds on wires, I creatively titled it 'Birds on Wires') won the People's Choice Award, which was a total surprise. So thanks to all you kind people - whoever you are - who voted, and thanks to my pals for coming down and celebrating in the alley afterwards. I woke up with a brutal headache.
These next couple are from when we visited Santa Monica in LA. There was a protest going on, something to do with Iraq. The sand was covered in crosses as a tribute to friends and family who didn't make it back, and everyone was particularly quiet. The vibe was a little weird.

Lomovember.
So, it's good to be home. LA was pretty wild, I bought a shitload of records and took plenty of photos (I'll get around to posting some of the nifty ones soon enough).
In the meantime, here's one of the five shots I have in Lomovember, a Lomo show put on by the kids at Pigeonhole. It's on tomorrow night, should be rad.

Clothespeg.
This will be my last post for a couple of weeks, I'm headed to sunny LA tomorrow to shoot a TV ad. Anyhoo, here are a couple of photos I submitted for the third edition of Clothespeg (thanks Yolanda!), which is opening on Friday the 9th at Slaughterblouse. Wish I could be there, but Hollywood beckons.

Heirs @ The Rosemount.
A few months ago, Heirs came to town and play a couple of shows. I had a great time, got relatively drunk, and took a couple of shots too. (I finally found their 12" just earlier today, which may have reminded me to post these photos.) I've thrown in a couple snaps of Eleventh He Reaches London from the same show.

Diana Mini.
Last week my brand spankin' new Diana Mini arrived in the mail, and these are the first shots from it. To be honest, I wasn't so impressed with what I got back - most of the shots were blown out and blurry. Maybe it's because of the slow shutter speed, maybe it's because I was shooting on overcast days. But anyway, I'll play around with it some more. I'm sure I'll find a good use for it.
